Did you know that the OSU Doel Reed Center in Taos offers unique learning opportunities for alumni and friends?
Leisure Learning classes are hands-on, engaging, and taught by highly qualified instructors in their respective fields. The classes take place in Taos, New Mexico, one of the Southwest’s most culturally rich and popular vacation destinations. The area is also a melting pot for accomplished artists representing virtually all disciplines. In addition, it’s a favorite destination for out-of-door enthusiasts with passions for hiking, biking, skiing, fly fishing, or rafting. Most Leisure Learning participants seize the opportunity to combine their time of learning with the many other opportunities available in the beautiful Taos surroundings. It’s an enchanted place to learn and visit.
Did you know the Doel Reed Center in Taos hosts OSU students throughout the year for Academic Credit Courses and Scholar Workshops?
Students enroll in two-week classes taught by OSU professors who tailor the course curriculum to incorporate the cultural and artistic aspects of the diverse northern New Mexico landscape. Many of these students enjoy studying and visiting outside Oklahoma for perhaps the very first time. They return home with a better understanding of the arts and diverse cultures found outside Oklahoma. Their OSU educations are truly enriched because of these unique learning experiences.
Did you know that a portion of each Leisure Learning class enrollment fee goes towards funding scholarships which allow OSU students to take advantage of a “travel abroad” type experience in nearby Taos, New Mexico?
What a great way for our alumni and friends to pursue a passion for travel and learning while supporting the education of deserving OSU students.
Did you know that educating OSU students, alumni and friends, as well as the Taos community, is not only our mission, but our passion?
We would love if you'd consider supporting our passion by attending a Leisure Learning class, donating to the student scholarship fund, or perhaps both? These are wonderful opportunites to give back to Oklahoma State University and support the mission of the Doel Reed Center in Taos.
The next Leisure Learning session is from Sept. 21-23 and enrollment ends Aug. 1, 2023.
