Leisure Learning

OSU invites you to participate in Leisure Learning classes, designed by expert instructors for inquiring adults. You'll explore the art, culture and recreational experiences that multi-cultural northern New Mexico has to offer.

Academic Credit Courses

The academic courses are offered in the summer and they cover topics from OSU’s Department of English; Department of Art, Graphic Design, and Art History; Department of Design, Housing, and Merchandising, and various other disciplines.

Artists and Scholars Program

Thanks to  generous support from Jim Vallion and Jim & Linda Burke, the Doel Reed Center hosts an annual Visiting Artist and Scholar program. The Smelser-Vallion Visiting Artist and the Jim and Linda Burke Visiting Scholar are chosen from a national pool of applicants for two to four week summer residencies at the center in Taos. During the residency, they produce original works, interact with OSU students, and present workshops and talks in Taos. Later, they give talks and workshops on campus in Stillwater.
