The Jim and Linda Burke Visiting Scholar or Writer
The Jim and Linda Burke Visiting Scholar/Writer in modern or contemporary literature and/or the arts of New Mexico or the Southwest will interact with students enrolled in Oklahoma State University's Taos class in English. The recipient also will be expected to deliver a public talk and/or demonstration while in Taos and to visit Oklahoma State University to share his/her work, give a public talk, and visit selected classes.
The Smelser Vallion Visiting Artist
The Smelser Vallion Artist will be expected to undertake a project, in any medium, that is in some way influenced by and/or reflects the landscape and/or culture of the Southwest. The recipient will interact with students enrolled in Oklahoma State University's Taos class and be expected to deliver a public talk and/or demonstration while in Taos. The Smelser Vallion Artist will also visit Oklahoma State University to share his/her work, give a public talk, and visit selected classes.
