Spotlight on Taos
Located just a few blocks north of the town plaza is the Taos Art Museum at Fechin
House. Many wonderful exhibitions have been featured over the years at the museum
but none more iconic than our own Sun Patterns, Dark Canyons: The Paintings and Aquatints of Doel Reed (1894-1985).
The exhibit has traveled from the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art in Stillwater to the Museum of Art in Wichita, receiving ravereviews from both venues. The collection will be available for viewing at the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House, May 24- Aug. 28, 2022. A public reception is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, 2022, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sun Patterns, Dark Canyons: The Paintings and Aquatints of Doel Reed (1894-1985) was curated by Dr. Rebecca Parker Brienen, Associate Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, Personnel and Faculty Development. Dr. Brienen will be leading
a Leisure Learning class, Doel Reed and his Contemporaries (1940s-1980s), July 25-29, 2022 at the OSU Doel Reed Center in Taos. A few seats are still available
that will include a guided visit to the Taos Art Museum at Fechin House. Click here to learn more and enroll.
