Honoring Our Taos Neighbors

Native American Heritage Month Graphic with tribal pattern

Native womenThe OSU Doel Reed Center in Taos joins in celebrating Native American Heritage Month. The Taos community is blessed to call several Northern New Mexico pueblos neighbors. Eight nearby pueblos are part of this rich multicultural region - Taos, Picuris, Santa Clara, Ohkay (formerly San Juan), San Ildefonso, Nambe, Pojoaque, and Tesuque. Each pueblo boasts many talented Native American artists who make significant contributions to the culture found in Northern New Mexico. These indigenous people openly and proudly share their artistic talents and traditions, thus making the OSU Doel Reed Center in Taos a vibrant place for our Academic Credit Course students and alumni enrolled in Leisure Learning Classes to discover both the past and present. It’s with gratitude that we thank and salute our Native American neighbors and friends.
