Attention Golfers: Are you available Sept. 21-24?
Announcing a late addition to the fall Leisure Learning session.
Late September in northern New Mexico is magical, boasting warm days, cool evenings, blue skies and golden aspen leaves. For years, alumni and friends have gathered in the fall at the OSU Doel Reed Center in Taos for fun, fellowship and lifelong learning opportunities. Enrollment for this year's Leisure Learning Classes is now open featuring four amazing classes:
- Beginning and Intermediate Fly Fishing
- Pueblo Worlds: An Overview of Pueblo History and Culture
- Taos Contemporary Art and Culture
- Beginning Jewelry Making
All classes are taught by highly qualified professional instructors.
But, if you’re a golfer and would rather spend your time playing several mountain
courses, a fifth event has been added. Join Burns and Ann Hargis (schedules permitting)
and others for Golf and a Bit of Culture. You’ll play Angel Fire Country Club on Thursday and Taos Country Club on Saturday,
with Friday open to enjoy a guided tour of several Taos cultural and visitor attractions.
If you’re a flatlander and have never experienced playing at altitude, you'll need to adjust your club selection, as your ball will carry about 10% further. You’ll also need to follow the ball flight closely. The Sangre de Cristo mountain range as a backdrop can prove to be a distraction.
Sign up to play golf while your spouse enjoys one of the four Leisure Learning classes or play golf as a couple. Make your plans early, as both Leisure Learning classes and tee times are limited. Why not invite several friends to join you for a few days of fun and relaxation in gorgeous Taos, New Mexico? They don’t need to be OSU alumni, just folks that will enjoy some good ol’ Cowboy hospitality at several social events.
