Where Creative Minds Meet Unique Cultures
OSU’s Doel Reed Center in Taos was born out of the generosity of a single individual whose vision to create a place for OSU students to experience learning in an environment not so very far from Stillwater but so very different in its landscape, culture and architecture. The generous gift of the Doel Reed family property by Doel Reed’s daughter Martha, a creative force in her own right, began a journey of generosity that has seen many iterations and stands today as a testament to what a few dedicated individuals can accomplish.
In the nearly 20 years since OSU first contemplated how this property could benefit the university, donors have given their resources, both financial and human to see the building and grounds we now know as OSU’s Doel Reed Center in Taos become a vibrant academic community providing opportunities for students through experiences that enrich and enhance not only their academic careers but also their world view. None of this could be possible without the dedication of the donors who continue each day to support the programs and opportunities that are made possible through their generosity.
As we celebrate the last 20 years with an enormous debt of gratitude to those who have supported Martha’s vision, enabling us to achieve remarkable things, we look forward to a future that will extend these opportunities in new and more expansive ways.
