Doel Reed, American Artist and Master Printmaker

This lecture will focus on Reed’s work as a printmaker, tracing the development of his style over a 60-year period. Dr. Brienen is currently completing a catalogue raisonné of Reed’s prints and will share new, little-known examples of his work and insights into his artistic development.

 

Dr. Rebecca Brienen is Professor of Art History and Associate Dean of Faculty and Graduate Affairs at Oklahoma State University. She curated the 2021-2022 traveling exhibition: "Sun Patterns, Dark Canyon: the Paintings and Aquatints of Doel Reed (1894-1985)." She has also taught a leisure learning class at the DRC.
