2026 Hargis Fellows Residency Applications

 

The Doel Reed Center in Taos is currently accepting applications for the Hargis Fellow Residency. The Fellowship is a two to four week residency in June/July 2026 or a two week residency in August 2026.  


The purpose of the residency is to continue Doel Reed’s legacy by assisting faculty to pursue creative work in Taos, NM.  The residency will provide lodging at the Doel Reed Center in Taos and an honorarium of $1500. The OSU Hargis Fellow in Residence will be expected to devote a part of the residency to developing a proposal for a credit course that could be offered at the center in a subsequent year. Faculty will also be requested to participate in DRC events on the Stillwater campus. The residence has internet access. Partners and well-behaved children may be accommodated.

The dealine for applications is December 8, 2025.

Eligibilty 
Any tenured, tenure-track, or career track continuing faculty member at OSU is eligible to apply.

 

Application Checklist

1.  CV

2.   Description of the work you would pursue during the residency (250-500 words).  Note this work should be part of your ongoing scholarly or creative work.  It does not have to be specific to Taos or the DRC. 

3.  Specific resources you may require while in residency. 

4. Dates you wish to be in residence (between June 24 and July 18 or between August 3 and August 14). Give more than one preference if possible. 

4. Brief description of the DRC credit course proposal you would develop. This proposal MUST take advantage of the teaching location in Taos and the curriculum should reflect that. 

 

Application Review Process

Applications will be reviewed by the DRC Program Committee.  Applicants will be notified of the status of their applications by December 18.
